AN ACT to authorise the issue and application of certain sums of money out of the Treasury Fund to Departmental Outputs for the Financial Year ending with the 30th day of June 1997 (hereinafter referred to as the 1996/1997 Financial Year).

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of Western Samoa in Parliament assembled as follows:

1. Short title and application - (1) This Act may be cited as the Supplementary Appropriation Act (No. 1) 1996/1997.

(2) Section 2 and the Schedule of this Act relate to Departmental Outputs for the 1996/1997 Financial Year.

2. Grant and appropriation of $5,866,835 out of the Treasury Fund - (1) There may be issued out of the Treasury Fund and applied to the Departmental Outputs as specified under this Act for the 1996/1997 Financial Year sums which do not exceed in the aggregate the sum of $5,866,835.

(2) The sums authorised to be applied by subsection (1) of this Section are hereby appropriated to the Departmental Outputs expressed in the several Votes and Estimates specified in the Schedule to this Act.

3. Authorisation of Reduction and Re-allocation - The Appropriation Act 1996/1997 is amended by authorising the reduction of the amount of $1,400,000 from the Ministry of Youths, Sports and Culture, and the said amount of $1,400,000 is hereby re-allocated to the Departments and Outputs specified in the Schedule to this Bill.
