AN ACT to amend the Electoral Act 1963.

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of Western Samoa in Parliament assembled as follows:-

1. Short title-This Act may be cited as the Electoral Amendment Act (No.2) 1995 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Electoral Act 1963 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

2. Qualifications of electors- The principal Act is amended by deleting the words "at any time" where they appear in subsection 3 of section 16 and substituting therefore the words "once only between general elections".

3. Rolls to be used in By-election when original election avoided subject to removal therefrom of names of persons who have become disqualified for registration as electors and voters-The principal Act is amended by adding the following proviso immediately after the word "addition" in section 113A.

"Provided however that the Registrar shall amend the Rolls used at the election which has been avoided by removing therefrom the names of any persons who have become disqualified for registration as electors or voters pursuant to section 16B of this Act after the date of the election which has been avoided".
