AN ACT to amend the Constitution as to the number of persons to be appointed as members of the Cabinet.

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of Western Samoa in Parliament assembled as follows:-

1. Short Title - This Act may be cited as the Constitution Amendment Act 1991 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Constitution of the Independent State of Western Samoa (hereinafter referred to as the Constitution).

2. Cabinet - Article 32 of the Constitution is amended as follows:-

(a) By omitting from subclause (b) of clause (2) the numeral "8" and substituting the words "not fewer than eight nor more than twelve".

(b) By omitting from subclause (e) of clause (2) the numeral "8" wherever that numeral appears, and substituting in each case the words "the number appoiment pursuant to sub (b) of this clause."
