SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATION (2001 and 2002)
ACT NO. 33 OF 2003

An Act to provide for the appropriation of additional funds for the services of the Government for the year ending on 31 December 2001 and 31 December 2002, and for related purposes.

Be it enacted by the President and Parliament as follows -

1 Appropriation of additional amounts 2001

The additional amount of VT 20,000,000 is to be issued from the public funds of the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu for the year ending on 31 December 2001 and is appropriated as set out in Schedule 1.

2 Appropriation of amounts under section 39 of the Public Finance and Economic Management Act No. 6 of 1998

The additional amount of VT 147,000,000 issued from the Public Fund under section 39 of the Public Finance and Economic Management Act No. 6 of 1998 for the year ending on 31 December 2002 is appropriated in accordance with Schedule 2.

3 Amounts carried over and allocated under section 37 of the Public Finance and Economic Management Act No. 6 of 1998

Schedule 3 sets out the allocation of amounts totalling VT 54,780,367 carried forward from the year ending on 31 December 2001 to the year ending on 31 December 2002 in accordance with section 37 of the Public Finance and Economic Management Act No. 6 of 1998.

4 Appropriation of additional amounts 2002

The additional amount of VT 468,000,000 is to be issued from the public funds of the Government of the Republic of Vanuatu for the year ending on 31 December 2002 and is appropriated as set out in Schedule 4.

5 Commencement

(1) Subject to subsection (2), this Act is taken to have commenced on 1 January 2002.

(2) Section 1 and Schedule 1 are taken to have commenced on 01 January 2001.

ACT NO. 33 OF 2003

Explanatory Note

The purpose of this Bill is to obtain the approval and authorisation of Parliament for the appropriation of additional funds of VT 20,000,000 (see Schedule 1 of the Bill) for the financial year ending on 31 December 2001 and VT 147,000,000 (see Schedule 2 of the Bill) for the financial year ending on 31 December 2002. The Bill also provides for the carrying over of VT 54,780,367 from 2001 to 2002 (see Schedule 3 of the Bill) and the appropriation of additional amounts of VT 468,000,000 for 2002 (see Schedule 4 of the Bill).

This Act is taken to have commenced on 1 January 2002 except for section 1 and Schedule 1 which are taken to have commenced on 01 January 2001.
