(AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 2 OF 1997

An Act to increase the current term of office of Chiefs elected to the National Council of Chiefs from 4 years to 5 years.

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows: -

AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 183

1. The National Council of Chiefs (Organisation) Act [CAP. 183] is amended in section 2(3) by deleting the figure "4" and substituting the figure "5".
   

COMMENCEMENT

2. This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 14^th Mary 1997.
