LAND REFORM (AMENDMENT) ACT
NO. 6 OF 1992

An Act to amend the Land Reform Act [CAP 123].

BE IT ENACTED by the President and Parliament as follows:-

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 9 OF CHAPTER 123

1. Section 9 of the Land Reform Act [CAP 123] in this Act referred to as the Principal Act is amended by repealing subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:-

"(1) On the day of Independence all state land shall vest in the Government and be public land and be held by it for the benefit of the Republic of Vanuatu."

REPEAL OF SECTIONS 10, 11, 12 and 13 OF THE PRINCIPAL ACT

2. Sections 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the principal Act are hereby repealed.

EFFECT OF REPEAL OF SECTIONS 10, 11, 12 AND 13 OF THE PRINCIPAL ACT

3. The repeal of sections 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the principal Act shall not affect:-

(a) any declaration, order, or rule made, certificate authority or permit granted, registration effected or other thing done; or

(b) any right, privilege, obligation or liability acquired, accrued or incurred

under those sections.

COMMENCEMENT

4. This Act shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.
