Public Prosecutor v Johns [1913] VUNHJC 41; Criminal 233 (21 November 1913)

Case No 233


This seventeenth day of October one thousand nine hundred and thirteen in the matter of a charge against A.R. Johns of Tongoa.

The above named A.R. Johns stands convicted in default of appearance before the Joint Court for that on or about Christmas 1912 at Tongoa New Hebrides he did sell alcoholic liquor to the natives Willie alia, Willie Sorka, Willie Bongalong, Jack Vallia, Pakoa, David Limbacoot contrary to the provisions of Article LIX of the Convention.

THEREUPON the Joint Court sentences the said A. R. Johns for his said offence to pay a penalty of one pound (£1) and the costs of these proceedings.
