POLICE ACT 2013

POLICE (OVERSEAS SERVICE) REGULATIONS 2013

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 171(2) and 173(1) of the Act, I make these Regulations –

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Police (Overseas Service) Regulations 2013.

Interpretation

2. In these Regulations –

"Commonwealth country" means a country listed in Schedule 1, and includes a country not listed in Schedule 1, but later joins the Commonwealth of Nations;

"Forum country" means a country that is a member country of the Pacific Islands Forum listed in Schedule 2, and includes a country not listed in Schedule 2, but later joins the Pacific Islands Forum as a member country;

"Overseas service countries" means the countries listed in Schedule 3 which the Prime Minister, by virtue of sections 171 and 173 of the Police Act 2013, may prescribe.

Deployment of Solomon Islands police officers to serve outside of Solomon Islands

3. Pursuant to section 171 of the Act, Solomon Islands police officers may, from time to time, be deployed in a Commonwealth country, a forum country or to overseas service countries.

Deployment of police officers to serve in Solomon Islands

4. Police Officers from any Commonwealth country, Forum country or overseas service countries may be deployed in Solomon Islands pursuant to section 173 of the Act.
