AN ACT TO AMEND PROVISIONS OF THE SOLOMON ISLANDS NATIONAL UNIVERSITY ACT 2012 RELATING TO THE COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITY.

ENACTED by the National Parliament of Solomon Islands.

SOLOMON ISLANDS NATIONAL UNIVERSITY (AMENDMENT) ACT 2014

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Solomon Islands National University (Amendment) Act 2014.

Commencement

2. This Act commences on a date appointed by the Minister by notice in the Gazette.

Act amended

3. This Act amends the Solomon Islands National University Act 2012 ("the principal Act").

Section 12 amended

4. The principal Act is amended by deleting section 12(4) and substituting it with the following:

"(4) The term of elected members mentioned in subsection (1)(a), (b), (c), (e) or (f) is 3 years, and for the elected member mentioned in subsection (1)(d) is 2 years, from the first scheduled meeting after the date of election."

Section 24 amended

5. The principal Act is amended in section 24(1)(a) by deleting "five (5)" and substituting with "two (2)."
