AN ACT TO AMEND THE ESSENTIAL SERVICES ACT (CAP. 12).

ENACTED by the National Parliament of Solomon Islands.

Short title and commencement

1. This Act may be cited as the Essential Services (Amendment) Act 2001, and shall come into operation on such date as may be appointed by the Minister by notice published in the Gazette.

Amendment of section 2 of Cap 12

2. Section 2 of the Essential Services Act (hereinafter referred to as the "principal Act") is hereby amended in the following respects -

(a) in subsection (1) by deleting the words "one hundred dollars" and substituting therefore the words "two thousand dollars;" and

(b) in subsection (7) by inserting immediately after the words "Treasury Division of the Ministry of Finance;" the words "Inland Revenue Division, Fisheries Division and Forestry Division."

Amendment of section 3

3. Section 3 of the principal Act is hereby amended by deleting the words "one hundred dollars" and substituting therefor the words "two thousand dollars;".
