AN ACT
entitled
Papua New Guinea Institute of Public Administration (Amendment) Act 2000,
Being an Act to amend the Papua New Guinea Institute of Public Administration Act 1993,
MADE by the National Parliament to come into operation in accordance with a notice in the National Gazette by the Head of State, acting with, and in accordance with, the advice of the Minister.
Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after Paragraph (f) the following:-
"(fa) to establish and provide an effective management for the business and commercial activities and resources of the Institute; and".
Section 4 of the Principal Act is repealed and is replaced with the following:-
"4. POWERS OF THE INSTITUTE.
The Institute has power sufficient and identical to the powers of a body corporate to do all things that are necessary or convenient to be done for and in connection with the performance of its functions under this Act.".
Section 7 of the Principal Act is amended in Subsection (1) -
(a) by adding after Paragraph (m) the following:-
- "; and"; and
(b) by adding at the end of that subsection the following:-
- "(n) a representative from the Chamber of Commerce; and
- "(o) a representative from the National Alliance of Non-Government Organizations.".
Section 8 of the Principal Act is amended in Subsection (1) by repealing the symbols and letter "(m)" and replacing them with the following:-
"(o)"
Section 17 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting after Paragraph (c) the
"(ca) to establish viable commercial and business ventures for financial profitability and sustainability; and".
