ARRANGEMENT OF SECTION.

New Section 27A.

"27A. GOODS AND SERVICES TAX REVENUE REDISTRIBUTION TO KOKOPO CITY AUTHORITY.".

AN ACT

entitled

Kokopo City Authority (Amendment) Act 2023,

Being an Act to amend the Kokopo City Authority Act 2015, to provide for the redistribution of goods and services tax revenue paid to the East New Britain Provincial Government under Intergovernmental Relations (Functions and Funding) Act 2009, and for related purposes.

MADE by the National Parliament.

NEW SECTION 27A.

The Principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after Section 27, the following new section:

"27A. GOODS AND SERVICES TAX REVENUE REDISTRIBUTION TO KOKOPO CITY AUTHORITY.
(1) The goods and services tax revenue entitlement due to the East New Britain Provincial Government under Section 40 of the Intergovernmental Relations (Functions and Funding) Act 2009, shall be redistributed in accordance with this section.
(2) The East New Britain Provincial Government must pay to the Kokopo City Authority, 25 percent of the goods and services tax revenue it receives from the Internal Revenue Commission for the fiscal year commencing 1 January 2024, and for each subsequent year.".
