ARRANGEMENT OF SECTION.

Amount of GST Distributions to Provincial Governments (Amendment of Section 40).

AN ACT

entitled

Intergovernmental Relations (Functions and Funding)(Amendment) Act 2023,

Being an Act to amend the Intergovernmental Relations (Functions and Funding) Act 2009 to provide for the redistribution of goods and services tax revenue paid to provincial governments under the Intergovernmental Relations (Functions and Funding) Act 2009, and for related purposes.

MADE by the National Parliament.

AMOUNT OF GST DISTRIBUTION TO PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENTS (AMENDMENT OF SECTION 40).

Section 40 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting immediately after Subsection (1), the following new subsections:

"(1A) A Provincial Government must pay to the city authority in the province a percentage of the goods and services tax revenue it receives from the Internal Revenue Commission.
(1B) An Act of the Parliament shall prescribe the method of payment, and the percentage to be paid by the Provincial Government under that Act.".
