An Act to repeal the Superannuation Act 1966 and for related purposes

Certified on 24 February 2012

Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Superannuation (Repeal) Act 2012.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on a date to be notified by the Minister in the Gazette.

3 Repeal of Act

The Superannuation Act 1966 is repealed.

4 Transfer of assets

(1) In this section:

'commencement date' means the date this Act commences;

'Superannuation Fund' means the Superannuation Fund established by section 15(1) of the Superannuation Act 1966.

(2) The assets of the Superannuation Fund existing immediately before the commencement date vest in the Republic on the commencement date.

5 Amendment of Nauru Police Force Act 1972

The Schedule amends the Nauru Police Force Act 1972.

6 Expiry of Act

This Act expires the day after it commences.
