Enacted by the Parliament of Nauru as follows:

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Motor Traffic (Amendment) No. 3 Act 2016.

2 Commencement

This Act commences upon certification by the Speaker.

3 Amendment of Motor Traffic Act 2014

The Motor Traffic Act 2014 is amended by the provisions of this Act.

4 Amendment of section 5

Omit

'an approved insurance company' means an insurance company approved by the Minister for the purpose of this Act;

Substitute

'approved insurer' means an insurer approved by the Minister for the purpose of this Act;

5 General amendment to references

(1) Any reference to "approved insurance company" is omitted and substituted with "approved insurer" in sections 92, 94, 96, 97, 103 and 113.

(2) Any reference in statutory instruments to "approved insurance company" is omitted and substituted with "approved insurer".

(3) Any reference to "insurance company" is omitted and substituted with "insurer" in sections 95, 97, 98, 99, 100, 102, 103 and 113.
