Trade Standards and Quality Control Decree 1992 - Trade Standards (Fuel Standards) Amendment Order 2009

TRADE STANDARDS AND QUALITY CONTROL DECREE 1992
(DECREE No. 24 of 1992)

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 26 of the Trade Standards and Quality Control Decree 1992 and that it is in the public interest to amend the trade standards order for automotive diesel fuel, I hereby make this Order -

Citation and commencement

1.-(1) This Order maybe cited as the Trade Standards (Fuel Standards) Amendment Order 2009 and comes into force on 1st June 2009.

Schedule 1 (paragraph 2) amended

Schedule 1 (paragraph 2) of the Trade Standards (Fuel Standards) Order 2007 is amended -

(a) the title to be amended by substituting it with "National Gas-Oil (Diesel) Standard" for "Automotive Diesel Standard"

(b) subparagraph (2) definitions to be amended by deleting "diesel means automotive diesel standard" and substituting it with "gas-oil (diesel) means all diesel imported, sold or used in Fiji, or exported to other countries"

(c) by inserting a new subparagraph (3) titled "Import License".

(3) Import Licensing of Gas Oil (Diesel) - all gas-oil (diesel) having sulphur content exceeding 500ppm shall be issued with import license by the Permanent Secretary responsible for Trade or any other person authorised to act on his or her behalf.

(d) by renumbering subparagraph (3) to be (4), subparagraph (4) to be (5) and subparagraph (5) to be (6).
