An Act to amend the Civil List Act 1968

(8 March 1979

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. Short Title and commencement

(1) This Act may be cited as the Civil List Amendment Act 1978-79 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Civil List Act 1968 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

(2) This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the first day of March 1979.

2. Salary of Premier

Section 4 of the principal Act (as amended by the Civil List Amendment Act 1977, No. 8) is hereby amended by omitting from paragraph (a) the word "fourteen" and substituting the word "ten".

3. Salaries of Ministers

Section 5 of the principal Act (as amended by section 3 of the Civil List Amendment Act 1977, No. 8) is hereby amended by omitting from paragraph (a) the word "ten" and substituting the word "eight".

4. Allowance of Speaker

Subsection (1) of section 10 of the principal Act (as amended by section 5 of the Civil List Amendment Act 1977, No. 8) is hereby amended by repealing paragraph (b) thereof.
