An Act to amend the Cook Islands Amendment Act 1960

BE IT ENACTED by the Legislative Assembly of the Cook Islands in Session assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. Short Title - This Act may be cited as the Cook Islands Amendment Act 1968-69, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Cook Islands Amendment Act 1960 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act").

2. Housing Improvement Board - Section 6 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:-

"(1) For the purposes of this part of this Act there is hereby established a Board to be called the Cook Islands Housing Improvement Board which shall consist of not more than five members (whether officers of the Cook Islands Public Service or not) who shall be appointed by the Premier and who shall hold office during his pleasure. The Premier shall appoint one of the members to be the Chairman."

3. Meetings of the Board - Section 7 of the Principal Act is hereby amended by-

(a) Repealing subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:-

"(1) The Chairman of the Board shall preside at all meetings of the Board at which he is present.";

(b) Repealing subsection (3).
